Dear Ms. Zito: Over the last 2 decades my sessioning has depended more on opportunism than on ritual. I can't say I ever returned to my desk after a session. I can say that I have left my desk early for a session and arrived home as if I had been at the job all day. Often I sessioned under a cloak of secrecy and relied on my own wits to lead a double life. Mostly I have gone home to continue my vanilla life. Sometimes I have gone to dinner, shopping or hung out with the Mistress after and have even been driven home after on a number of occasions. Lately I am free from the duplicity of a double life but still don't reveal my whereabouts to others when off to and from a session. To my surprise, chapters are still being written in the book of my kinky life. Dannyboy

Dear Ms. Kang: I may have posted this before. This was with a Japanese Mistress and an Japanese female sub/switch. The sub accused me of abusing her. The Mistress, standing with a riding crop in her hand demanded to know why I took advantage of this innocent young lady. So I looked at her with the most innocent puppy dog eyes and said "she raped me." The Mistress dropped the crop and broke out in spasms of uncontrollable laughter. Dear Ms. Brinks: I have been aware of this branch of the scene. Never participated, never interested. Your words have images of Sheryl Crow floating in my head to the tune of "Strong Enough." I certainly, at my age and state of infirmity, am not strong enough to be your pony. Years ago, one of my most cherished memories, The Headmistress, Vu and I walked from the West Village to Chinatown. While walking on Mercer Street I carried Vu piggyback for several blocks. This was not an aspect of domination but more the frivolous way we played when in public. I'm sure some of the younger and more robust subs would be happy to carry you on their backs. gene: Not all that serious about its not being a tough speech. My momma waited till I was 5. LOL. The part about "steers and queers" was a direct quote and "skull fucking to death" was another from the Lou Gossett rant. Anyone who has gone through military boot camp, especially when I was young, can remember that kind of indoctrination by the Drill Sergeant or Company Commander very early on in the process. You have to unlearn the emotional dependencies and comforts of home and get with the program. What I didn't like was the statement that "only faggots and sailors are called Lawrence." I would have told him "I don't see any bell-bottoms so you must be a faggot, sir." I did my boot camp at Great Lakes, Illinois, 50 miles north of Chicago and it got pretty cold up there in the winter. On my ship we beat the Marines in boxings matches most of the time. Dannyboy

gene: What a candy-ass, I got a tougher speech from my mother on the day I was born. LOL Actually some of the rant seems to be copied from the one delivered by Gunnery Sergeant Emil Foley in "An Officer and a Gentleman," played by Lou Gossett, Jr. That was on my mind as a favorite. Dear Ms. Zito: Painting with a broad brush, there were a number of factors that dovetailed over a time span of years to a decade or more. In the USA, say after the late 50's, there was sustained economic growth, improvement of working conditions, more disposable income, more leisure time and loosening attitudes about sex and sexual information. There were free speech movements, sexual freedom movements and Court decisions up to the Supreme Court giving more leeway to books with sexual content. There was the incident in New Jersey in 1965 when a dungeon in Newark, NJ, operated by Monique van Cleef was raided by police bringing more attention to the existence of S & M. Swingers magazines proliferated in the 60's and Mistresses advertised and contacts were made my mail. Screw magazine was established including advertisements for houses of prostitution and Mistresses. S & M clubs came into existence and some dungeons opened. The first one that I became aware of was Belle de Jour. Anyone seeking a Mistress could easily, by the 1970's, find one. It was not mainstream then but was available to the masses and easily found through the media. Sex shops operated by that time and many toys considered illegal could now be purchased over the counter. When Giuliani became mayor he did great damage to the sex industry but cleaned up the Times Square area. Mistresses and dungeons differentiated themselves from the prostitution industry by eliminating certain sexual acts and adapting to new rules. That ensured their survival. So the trickling started around the 60's and is now mainstream. The Fortress could not have been conceived without all that happened before the Headmistress was born. Dannyboy

AL: This is one practice that I have some experience with. When I first started playing I shunned the thought of gold. Eventually I tried it with a Japanese Mistress over 25 years ago. I was so drunk and she was about to burst. I never saw a woman spurt from sexual play though. Dannyboy

I never met her but I'm sure that the Fortress Mistresses can embrace most different interests as if they were their own. Please do confirm and report to us how much you were impressed by the Mistress and the Fortress. Dannyboy

Dear Ms. Shankar: We had a training session with the Headmistress and, generally, training sessions by their very nature are not intended to be great but are intended to be instructive. It was a great pleasure to have met you that day and I hope we meet again soon to tell you more about the person you reminded me of and craft a session that could lead to greatness. I have had many "great" sessions over my long life in the scene. Three factors contributing to greatness are: 1) The depth of my feelings for the Mistress. 2) Our mutual abilities to absorb and internalize the scenario or psychodrama of our play. 3) The ability of the Mistress to seamlessly seize control of the narrative at optimal moments. Dear Ms. Brinks: As partners we are an unstoppable force meeting an immovable object a/k/a "the irresistible force paradox." We often spend hours arguing without resolution and to utter exhaustion. We are opposite in so many ways. I would say we look like the Dean of the college and its prettiest cheerleader or every dirty old man's dream. Getting her to the Fortress is not an easy task. I have to be very delicate with her and I fear the "green monster" kicks in whenever I broach the subject. So, it is my hope that we will be back to the Fortress for a couples session with you. It will take some patience and time on my part but I believe I will succeed. One we are in the dungeon she becomes a willing accomplice and becomes as harsh and cruel as most Mistresses can be. It becomes them against me. At her best she is a beautiful and precious darling. At her worst it takes the patience of a Saint not to walk away. Seems we need each other. Hope to be there in a while.
