Mistress Sophia Katz
https://www.vox.com/conversations/2017/6/27/15873072/google-porn-addiction-america-everybody-lies What I found most interesting about this article is the idea one could break down specific fetish interests by region (ie: in India adult breastfeeding porn topped the searches and young men in Japan have an overwhelming interest in tickling videos.) Since most people don't talk about their fetishes openly, especially in more conservative countries, I found it fascinating certain regions could be incubators for a specific sexual interest. This, on the other hand did: porn featuring violence against women is more popular among women than men.

Hi Mistress Katz, This was a great article and I think I'm going to pick up the book. Thanks! That was a great article. The part about more men being in the closet in a state such as Mississippi doesn't surprise me. This, on the other hand did: porn featuring violence against women is more popular among women than men. This surprised me also. It's something I never would have thought. Mistress Vivienne Fang
That was a great article. The part about more men being in the closet in a state such as Mississippi doesn't surprise me. This, on the other hand did: porn featuring violence against women is more popular among women than men. I'm actually not extremely surprised by that. Similar to the way many male subs watch porn that contain violence against men because they play into their fantasies, I can imagine that female subs do the same. Mistress Justine Shankar
This is really interesting, thank you Mistress Katz! I wonder how literally to interpret this data, with regard to sexual orientation and interests... I think people search out porn/erotica for a range of different reasons. In my experience, it seems fairly common for people to seek out a particular dynamic or activity rather than performers of a certain appearance or gender. For example, I've spoken with a lot of women of all sexual orientations who watch predominantly gay male porn, in part because the power dynamic is more egalitarian than in mainstream porn with women performers/straight content. Do you all find this to be the case? What draws you to certain themes/genres? I also wonder how "violence" is characterized in studies like these. This probably speaks to a lot of common misconceptions about BDSM and violence/abuse, but I wonder if some kink-related content is incorrectly labeled "violent" -- and conversely, how much vanilla content is actually exploitative and/or violent, but not recognized as such due to it being more mainstream at a surface level. travellerinlife
On a side note, I always wondered why Google hasn't created a dating site for people based on their search history. Imagine how much easier it would be for people to know each other.

Similar to the way many male subs watch porn that contain violence against men because they play into their fantasies, I can imagine that female subs do the same. I was thinking that as well! Sometimes in a space like this it's easy to forget that many female subs exist lol

Oooo these are all awesome points. There are so many variables of who is really behind the computer screen, and what their intentions were when they searched. To add, I've met many people whose porn preference really didn't reflect what they actually liked to physically do (within and outside of BDSM). Just as some submissives prefer to watch scenes featuring extreme and intense types of play, but realize they prefer a lighter session when playing themselves. Porn is great at making many things appealing in concept even if you'd never do it in practice!
ABDamienNY
Thanks for sharing that very interesting article, Mistress Katz! I found it liberating in a way to know that by his estimates 30% of people are watching "you would find disgusting." In regards to Mistress Shankar's question: In my experience, I do think many people are attracted to an activity and a story more so than a gender or body type with porn. The last few women I've dated have specific activities they like to see happen to other women in porn. One was into seeing girls get fucked by machines without a choice. The other was into watching girls put things up each others bums and be extra pretty cute while doing it. It'll be interesting to see how sex continues to evolve in the age of the internet. Anal porn passing vaginal in 3 years is pretty telling. As a guy who's into all things ass (farting, facesitting, toilet, etc.) I've noticed a shift in cultural consciousness around how open people are relating to kinks around bums. Pegging for example has gone relatively mainstream and is covered on big TV shows every year. Allison Williams getting rimmed on GIRLS was something people pretended was a big deal, but that's just because people finally felt publicly free to own that side of themselves. I think as women continue to gain equal power in the social/career/entertainment world it'll be interesting to see how it affects sexual dynamics. Hi Mistress Katz, This was a great article and I think I'm going to pick up the book. It seems like it would be a very interesting book. That was a great article. The part about more men being in the closet in a state such as Mississippi doesn't surprise me. This, on the other hand did: porn featuring violence against women is more popular among women than men. I found that to be very interesting, also. I am interested in a further breakdown; such as what types of porn (rough straight porn? BDSM?) and if it were men or women enacting the violence towards the women. Going to play parties, I have noticed that sub women are much more interested in playing with Domme women than men, so it makes me curious if there is a large group of women consuming Femme Domme/female sub porn. This is really interesting, thank you Mistress Katz! I wonder how literally to interpret this data, with regard to sexual orientation and interests... I wouldn't necessarily equate an interest in homosexual porn to being homosexual, either, as what one fantasizes about can often differ from what one would actual like to actively experience. Cuckold fantasies are also very popular, however most men don't want their partners to sleep with someone else in real life. That being said, in a repressed area where husbands google "gay sex" in conjuncton with their wives googling "is my husband gay?" I can imagine there are quite a lot of closet cases.
