Every night they have a big family feast for everyone that works there. Huge platters of seafood and delicious looking meats. They sit at the back table. The Doyers Street location feels like stepping back in time (it's been around since 1927), and the street itself is quite historic -- it was called the "Bloody Angle" in the 20s and 30s due to notorious gang fighting there, and was the site of the first Chinese-language theater in New York City. Not to mention, the place is beautifully quirky inside, and the food is delicious. I love the soup dumplings at Shanghai Cafe on Mott Street, and Golden Unicorn for dim sum. And ANY of their Fruity Bubble Teas! There are plenty of Chinese, Japanese, and Thai spots in Brooklyn that I always go to. Don't even try to go there on a Sunday for brunch. I love the various choices including vegetarian. I am making a note of the other locations. When I was getting the Fortress up and running at the original location I had many late nights that ran into early mornings. Mr. Tall was there baking baos at 5AM and we became fast friends ?
