Mistress Ahn
Has anyone every sprained a finger? I didn't know it was possible.... wait scratch that, it was always obviously possible, I just never put that much thought into it.... I've recently been playing a lopt of Guitar Hero... 3, 5 and Metallica. Usually I take breaks but I sold my harddrive with all my old save files a few months back and then got all 3 guitar heros at the same time, so being the determined gamer that I am I decided that I'd unlock all the songs in career mode in all three games in 2 days on hard. . . by 6 am of day 3 I had my wrist wrapped in an ace bandage and was rubbing icy hot on my pinky.... I think I've actually sprained my pinky. . . its slightly swollen and hurts to bend. Has anyone ever sprained their pinky before? If so is there a way to sooth the pain, because I still havent accomplished my goal and I've been reduced to playing on medium! When I woke up this morning I couldnt even play. I'd even tried to take breaks by playing fallout and army of 2. Speaking of Army of 2. the next one is coming out next week... who's gonna be playing? OMG and Bioshock next month and Final Fantasy the month after that.... so many games... so little time. Guest
While I never sprained my finger after playing the guitar, I have encountered these two things. 1. If I don't play for long periods my fingertips will loose the callus and hurt like hell. 2. The joint in my thumb will ache like a bad tooth after playng bar chords for long periods. Never had a sore pinky though.
WuTang
I've been known to rock out on guitar hero, Black Magic Woman by Santana is sweet. Carpal tunnel sets in after about 48 hours of game play, my ring finger and the last knuckle on the pinky are useless.
Mistress Mina Jung
I somewhat know how you feel Ahn. Over New Year's I was playing Fusion Frenzy, only for about an hour or so and gave my self "video thumb" from the joystick. No where near your poor swollen hand, though... I beat it in a day then went out the next day to buy GH5... now i have beatles rock band and cant stop playing! Despite the pain and the swelling... Do you think its carpal tunnel? Because I think that may be the only thing that'll get me to stop. lol Though my hand still smarts.
Zadok
I have yet to sprain a finger playing any games, even Rockband. I have to admit though, I am a wimp and only play on the normal setting. Right now I'm playing Bayonetta, Assassin's Creed 2 and Borderlands. I loved the first Bioshock, but I have a hard time believing that this new one is going to live up to the original. I never got into the first Army of Two, so I have not really looked at the new one all that closely. I might need to give it a try. The game that I am most looking forward to is Mass Effect 2, and later in the year Heavy Rain. I'm really trying to avoid buying so many games, I just don't have the time to beat them, but there are far too many solid titles coming out this year already. Milkdud
Mistress Ahn, There was a very well-paid relief pitcher on my favorite baseball team who sprained his finger the very same way. He was out for months-( Sadly, the only way to recover is to ice it and let that beautiful digit rest for an extended period of time. leatherwings

Dear Mistress Ahn, I had sprained my pinky a year or so ago just playing football with friends, the finger became very swollen and was throbbing with pain, any attempt to bend it resulted in even more extreme pain. As Leatherwings had mentioned, the only thing that helped was applying ice and resting the finger. But with so many games and so little time, I fully realize that resting the finger may prove difficult for you. Best wishes for a speedy recovery, as I know how much you love the games and you definitely can not play at the level that you are used to with a dead finger. pauljay
Very sorry to learn of your sprained pinky, Mistress Ahn. Over the years i've sprained several of my fingers playing one sport or the other, but video games add a whole new set of ways to damage yourself. Do tear yourself away from the games for a few days, as difficult as it may be for you. After all, Your many subbies need Your hand to be strong to deliver the blows they deserve! OOOH I just bought Bayonetta yesterday! it looks soooo cool! I played the demo and had to have it! With her naked time hair dragon and gun shoes... sexy glasses wearing angel killer.... win!!! I haven't even bought AC2 yet. Idk y... i loved the first one, I just havent been able to muster the motivation. lol I think Bioshock will be interesting because this game you're playing as a big daddy right? Mass Effect<333333 Its so hard to find time to play all the kick ass games I want to play, so I end up juggling games and then forgetting about a few and having to start over because i've forgotten controls and combos... woe is me. lol Mistress Ahn, There was a very well-paid relief pitcher on my favorite baseball team who sprained his finger the very same way.
